Saint Anthimus of Rome was born in the third century AD at Bithynia, Asia Minor. He was beheaded and died as a martyr in 303 AD on the Via Salaria outside Rome, Italy. We celebrate his feast day on May 11 every year in the Catholic Church.

Saint’s Biography
Saint Anthimus of Rome was a pastor in Rome, Italy, known for his conversions, including that of a Roman prefect. The change of faith of the official made Anthimus target of Roman officials who condemned him to drown but was saved by an angel. Anthimus continued his work and was later recaptured and martyred.
