Saint’s Biography
Saint Arbeo of Freising studied under Saint Corbinian and became a Benedictine monk. He was the first abbot at the Scharnitz Monastery at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany in 763. Two years later he was the bishop of Freising, Germany. St. Arbeo increased his reputation of the diocese for prosperity and religious devotion, founded several convents, and make the Freising cathedral school and library famous for its scholarship.

St. Arbeo died on May 4 783 of natural causes.
