Saint Asclepiades Biography
At that time, when there were the persecutions of Decius, Asclepiades, and fifteen other parishioners spent the night of 22-23 February 250 in prayer after hearing that they were to be arrested. They were then arrested in the morning at the end of mass. They had already locked in some chains and shackles to make it obvious that they were imprisoned, and not going to aposticize. He was racked and torn with hooks to sacrifice him to the pagan gods but he refused. This led to his death hence a martyr.
