St Balther of Lindisfarne was the Benedictine hermit at Lindisfarne and Bass Rock, Northumbria, England. Balther was a specialist in gold and silversmith who worked Eaddfrid to create the bindings of the Lindisfarne Gospels in gold, silver, and gems.
Balther’s Death
