St. Clement of Metz Biography
Saint Clement of Metz was a Bishop of Metz, France; custom says he was sent there as an evangelist by Saint Peter the Apostle.
Legend says that when Clement touched base in Metz, the territory was blockaded by the Graoully, an enormous, poison-inhaled snake that lived in a nearby Roman amphitheatre with a multitude of snakes.
Forbearing pursued away from the snakes and exiled the Graoully by making the Sign of the Cross at them. This prompted a change in the entire town.
