Saint’s Biography
Saint Cyrus of Constantinople was born in the 6th century, but nothing is known about his early life. He became a monk in Amasra and Paflagonia. In 705 AD Cyrus was appointed the bishop and patriarch of Constantinople following the impeachment of St. Callinicus by the emperor.
Cyrus face persecution and disgrace for refusing to restore the heresy of monotheism. He was elected to the seat of the Imperial City, but he was later expelled and died in exile in 714.
