St. Domitian of Lerins Biography

St. Domitian of Lerins, also known as Domitian of Bebron. Was born in Rome to Philippe and Marcinille. When he was a teenager he lost both his parents who were executed. This was during the persecutions of Christians by the Arians. When he was old enough he gave all his possessions to the poor. Later he went on to become a monk in Rome, Italy.

St. Domitian eventually relocated to Gaul and became a monk in Lerins abbey. He is also responsible for building an oratory dedicated to Saint Christopher near Lyons in France. That was also where he lived as a hermit.

Finally he established the monastery of Bebron, which was later known as Saint Rambert de Joux. He served as its abbot.
