Saint Francis Xavier Can Nguyen was also known as Phanxicô Xaviê Can. He was a Layman Catechist who worked under the Paris Foreign Mission Society.

He was arrested for his faith and was offered a chance for freedom if he would renounce his faith. When he declined he was martyred.
