Saint’s Biography

Saint Ignatius of Laconi was born on December 17, 1701, in Laconi, Italy. He came from a humble but dignified family who educated him in Christian values. Ignatius lived in Laconi, dedicated to work in the fields until he became a Friar. He entered the convent of the Novices and took his vows in 1722. Ignatius was transferred from Cagliari to the Convent of Iglesias and worked fifteen years in his house’s weaving shed.

Ignatius visited everyone for donation expect a man who was a money Lender and never forgave a debt. The man complained to Brother Ignatius’s superior, and he was sent to the house. Ignatius returned with a large sack of food, but when the sack was emptied, blood dripped out. “This is the blood of the poor,” Ignatius softly explained. “That is why I never ask for anything at that house.”. He died on May 11, 1781, in Cagliari, Italy of natural causes.
