St. Livinus Biography
St. Livinus was the son of a Scottish nobleman and an Irish princess who was raised in Ireland and studied there and in England. He was ordained by St. Augustine of Canterbury. He was a highly successful missionary to Flanders, Belgium with three companions.
He served as a Bishop of Ghent, Belgium. He was tortured by pagans where his tongue was torn out to stop his preaching. It is said that the tongue continued to preach on its own. A martyr.
