Saint’s Biography

Saint Luis Batiz Sainz was known as a devout child. Luis entered the seminary of Durango, Mexico at 12. Consecrated on January 1, 1894. He was a spiritual leader of the seminary and pastor in Mexico. Luis worked with the Catholic Action. He taught catechism for children and adults. Preached against violence and violent revolution and was accused of planning anti-government riots. Arrested on 14 August 1926 by government troops. He was offered his freedom if he recognized the legitimacy of the anti-religious government of Calle; he refused.
