St Irmã Dulce Pontes, also known as St Dulce of the Poor or Sister Maria Rita Lópes Pontes de Souza Brito, was a nun in the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception. She was born on May 26 1914 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and died on March 13 1992 at the age of 77. We celebrate her feast day on August 13 every year in the Catholic Church.
