Saint Patricia of Nicomedia

St. Patricia of Nicomedia, also called Patricia of Nicomedia, was a married woman and the mother of St. Modesta of Nicomedia.

Along with her husband St. Macedonius and several other Christians, whose names are not known, she was martyred in 304 AD in Nicomedia (modern-day Turkey).

Saint Grace of Saragossa

She was subjected to severe beatings that resulted in internal injuries and had her breasts removed before being sent back to her prison cell to perish from her wounds. This occurred in 304 AD in Zaragoza, Spain.

Together with several other unidentified Christians, the entire family was martyred, and they perished in 304 AD in Nicomedia, which is now located in Turkey.

Blessed Eustachius of Huy, the eldest son of Blessed Ivetta of Huy, was born in Huy, Belgium, during the latter part of the 12th century.

He converted to Christianity under his mother’s guidance and became a Cistercian monk at the Orval monastery, located in modern-day Belgium. Eventually, he was appointed as the abbot of the monastery.

St. Modesta of Nicomedia was the daughter of St. Patricia of Nicomedia and St. Macedonius of Nicomedia.

Along with several other Christians whose identities are unknown, the entire family was martyred, and St. Modesta died in 304 AD in Nicomedia, which is presently situated in Turkey.
