St Edwin of Northumbria, also known as Aeduini, or Eadwine, was the King of Deira and Bernicia, which later became known as Northumbria.
He was born in 586 AD in Deira, England.
He died in 633 AD in Hatfield Chase, England.

St Edwin of Northumbria Life History
St Edwin of Northumbria was the son of King Ella of Deira. He became the king of Northumbria from 616 AD to 633 AD.
He was married to Saint Ethelburga, daughter of St Ethelbert, King of Kent after he promised to allow her to practice her Christian religion.
Because he was born a pagan, he converted to Christianity as an adult after he was baptized in 627 AD by Saint Paulinus of York. He became the first Christian King of Northumbria.
He was the father of Saint Eanfleda of Whitby, the great-uncle of Saint Hilda of Whitby, and the grandfather of Saint Elfleda.
In the last years of his reign, St Edwin met his death at Hatfield Chase on October 12 633 AD, when the Welsh Cadwalon marched in arms against him with the pagan King Penda of Mercia.
