St. Oswald of Worcester Biography
St. Oswald of Worcester was born when his parents had just come to England from Denmark. He was educated by his uncle, St. Odo the Good and became a priest in the diocese of Winchester, England. He later became a Benedictine monk at Fleury-sur-Loire France.
He also served as the Bishop of Worcester in England in 962 AD working with Saint Dunstan and Saint Ethelwold to receive the monastic and ecclesiastical discipline in England.
Oswald initiated the abbey at Ramsey and the monastery at Winchester. He later became the Archbishop of York in 972 AD.
