St Pirmin Life History
St Pirmin was a monk following strong Irish monasticism influences. When Saracens invaded Spain, he fled to Germany where he restored several abbeys.
He rebuilt the Dissentis abbey after its destruction. He established and served as an abbot in Mittelzell Abbey, Germany.
Later, he was exiled to Alsace for political reasons and founded monasteries at Armorbach, Gengenbach, Neuweiler, and Wissembourg.
He may have worked with Saint Amor of Armorbach. He was appointed a regional bishop.
