St. Sadoth of Seleucia Biography

St. Sadoth of Seleucia was a deacon during the time of Saint Barbasymas in the diocese of Seleucia-Ctesiphon. He attended the council of Nicaea in 325 AD. He was chosen the new bishop after the bishop of Saint

Barbasymas. Sadoth went into hiding with his priest while still evangelizing to his flock. However, the forces returned to Seleucia leading to his arrest along with other 128 priests, deacons and nuns.

Most of his companions were executed immediately but for him, he was imprisoned and repeatedly tortured. They were given the offer to obey the King and get released but they refused.
