Saint’s Biography

Saint Severinus of Septempeda was the brother of Saint Victorinus of Camerino. The two brothers distributed their wealth to the poor and then retreated as a hermit to Monte Nero in Italy.

Pope Vigilius ordered Severinus to become Bishop of Septempeda in Ancona, Italy. Severinus was so successful in reviving the faith in his diocese that today the city is known as San Severino Marche in his honor. He died in 550 of natural causes.
