St Toribio Romo González was a Catholic Priest born on April 16 1900 in Santa Ana de Guadalupe, Jalostotitlán parish, San Juan de los Lagos diocese, Jalisco, Mexico. He was shot in the back and died as a martyr on February 25 1928 in his rectory in Agua Caliente, Jalisco, Mexico during the Cristeros rebellion in Mexico. He is one of the martyrs of the Cristero War. We celebrate his feast day on May 21 every year in the Catholic Church.

St Toribio Romo González

St. Toribio Romo González was ordained a priest at the age of 21. He then became the parish priest in Tequila, Jalisco in the Archdiocese of Guadalajara in Mexico.

Later, he transferred to be the parish priest of Agua Caliente in Mexico. He was known for great devotion to the Eucharist. Toribio was killed during the Mexican Revolution for the crime of being a priest.
