St. Trudo of Hesbaye Biography
St. Trudo of Hesbaye was also known as Apostle of Hasbein. He was a Child of Blessed Adela.
Identified with the dukes of Austrasia. A Benedictine priest under Saint Remaclus. Learned at the house of God at Metz, France. Appointed by Saint Clodulf of Metz. Noted minister.
Constructed a congregation on the land around his family’s home c.656, and had it favoured by Saint Theodard of Liege in the names of Saint Quintinus and Saint Remigius of Rheims.
Proselytized the all through the region of Hasbein, and as the believers developed he was compelled to fabricate a religious community that was later named for him.
Established a community close Bruges, Belgium c.660. The various developments of his relics have prompted a few neighbourhood records having various dates for his dedication.
