Today’s Bible Verse of the Day Reflections

Jesus teaches us today about our usefulness in life and the purpose for which we were created.

Jesus compares us with trees. Those of us who are good, loving, God-fearing and follow the teachings of Christ are the good trees which, from these virtues, will bear good fruits.

Those others who are evil, blasphemous, full of hatred, and do not follow the teachings of Christ are the bad trees that can never bear good fruits but will always bear rotten fruits.

Jesus tells us that we shall know people by their actions. You know, people can be very deceiving and sly. They can come and speak of how righteous they are and can do great deeds for you.

But when you see their actions and utterances in separate situations, you begin to doubt them. Jesus tells us today that we should be aware of these false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.

The Holy Scripture tells us that there is no way good deeds can come from an evil person and also no way bad deeds can be done by a good person.

If you do bad things then you are a bad person. If you do good things then you must be a good person.

The rewards for each are well articulated by Jesus that bad people will be thrown into the fires of Gehenna and good people will inherit the Kingdom of God.

So, today, let us learn to translate our good words with good actions so that we can remain good trees which continue to bear good fruits, and good fruits are all those things that Jesus Christ has taught us to do. This includes Loving The Lord our God with all our Hearts, Soul and Mind and Loving our neighbours as ourselves.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, help us to remain attached to You because You are the true Vine and we are the branches. When we remain attached to You we will always get fed by You and we will always produce good fruits that God the Father, The True Farmer, wishes for us. Jesus, I love you. Amen
