9 “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.Luke 11:1-13
Today’s Bible Quote of the Day Reflections
Jesus today teaches us how to pray and the importance of praying for something over and over again.
The main theme about this teaching is how God promises to provide for us anything we need in order to continue doing the work He created us to do. Here, God’s providence is premised to the fact that we are doing what is according to His Holy Will. If it is against His will, then our prayers will not be answered.
Now, lets assume that what we are praying for is good and according to God’s Holy Will. Jesus clarifies that we will never lack anything we pray for in His Name. What we ask for, we will get, what we seek we will find and whatever door we knock will be opened for us. This is in order to make sure God’s work is done.
Jesus knows very well that we will encounter many hurdles and obstacles in our bid to do God’s work. That is why He assures us His full support in case we run into them.
All we need to do is to know God and the work He wants us to do for Him here on earth. Once we discern and know that, the rest will fall into place. For God created all of us with a purpose. He is happy when we fulfill this purpose and gets angry when we deviate from that purpose. God created us to know, love, serve, praise and glorify Him all the days of our lives.
Indeed, Jesus tells us to imagine How much more God, the owner of everything in this world, will give us, we who do His will, compared to the little gifts the wicked ones give to their children.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, we love, serve, praise and glorify You through the work we do. Help us to stick to this core mandate You have gives us so that when we ask and seek anything from You we will get and when we knock on any closed door, it will be opened for us. Amen
