Blessed Gonçalo Henriques, A deacon. Jesuit researcher. Companion and buddy of Bl. Ignatius de Azevedo. A missionary. Martyred by the Huguenot Jacques Sourie while on the way to Brazil.. Among a band of forty Spanish, Portuguese and French Jesuit teachers martyred by the Huguenot privateer Jacques Sourie while on the way to Brazil. Drowned on July 15, 1570, by being tossed off the ship Santiago close Palma, Canary Islands. No other information aboout them survives.
