Biography
Blessed Jane Scopelli, since the beginning, Jane felt attracted to religious life. Her family contradicted the work, and she obeyed them, carrying on with a devout, somber life in her folks’ home. On their demises, she established the Our Lady of the People Carmelite convent at Reggio, Italy, and filled in as its first prioress. She denied all blessings or endowments to the religious circle except if they were given as contributions without any strings or conditions connected. Her supplications apparently brought about supernatural occurrences. Died in 1491 of natural forces.
