Blessed Juan of San Domenico, also known as Juan Martinez y Cid, was a Dominican priest who was born in the 16th century AD in Manzanal de los Infantes, Zamora, Spain and died as a martyr on March 19 1618 in prison in Suzúta, Omura, Nagasaki, Japan. He is one of the 205 Martyrs of Japan. We celebrate his feast day on May 19 every year in the Catholic Church.
