Blessed Luis Bertrán Biography
Blessed Luis Bertrán, a relative of St. Louis Bertrán. Joined the Dominicans in 1611 at Santa Catalina Monastery in Barcelona, Spain. Priest. Missionary to the Philippines 1618. Missionary to Japan 1623; He worked the rest of his life in the Omura region. He brought many to faith, especially the work with Dominican universities. Blessed Mancio de la Cruz, Blessed Pedro de Santa Maria, and three of the patients who had protected them during a period of persecution. A martyr.
