Blessed’s Biography
Blessed Paul Favre-Miville worked as a plumber, later joined the army and served as a paratrooper officer in Algeria. In his 40s, Paul followed his calling and joined the Trappist in 1984. In 1989, he moved to the Tibhirine Atlas Abbey near Médéa, Algeria, and established an irrigation system for their gardens. Paul was abducted with other six monks during the night of 26-29 March 1996 during the Algerian Civil War. They were detained for two months and then murdered because they were Christians. Martyr.
