Biography
Saint Patermutius of Egypt, an infamous looter, and criminal, he changed over to Christianity, brought to the confidence by St. Copra. Desert loner in Egypt. At age 75, captured in the abuses of Julian the Apostate for declining to forfeit to icons. Julian sent Copra, who had disavowed Christianity, to persuade Patermutius to do likewise. Rather, Patermutius took Copra back to the confidence. Tossed into a blazing heater for his resistance, he was safe by the flame and was seen standing and supplicating; this show of confidence and quality brought St. Alexander of Egypt to change over. Patermutius was then pulled from the heater and executed. A martyr.
