Blessed Eugenia was born on 27 September 1900 AD in Suwalki, Podlaskie, diocese of Lomza, Poland. Mackiewicz was a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth but due to the turmoil of World War II, she was never able to make her final profession in the Sisters. She was also one of the Martyrs of Nowogrodek who were killed for their faith in the Nazi persecutions.
