Blessed’s Biography

Zefirino Agostini was born in September 1813. In 1837, ordained a priest and was assigned the head of the oratory and catechesis in the vast. He looked for the interest of poor in Verona. He founded school programs for girls, religious and education for mothers.

On 2 November 1856, he opened his first charitable school for poor girls. Some local women working in the school chose community life; Father Agostini prepared the first rule for the community, and on 24 September 1869 the first twelve made their profession. Congregation of Ursulines (Saint Ursula) Daughters of Mary Immaculate was established in 1869. Zefirini held the parish for over 50 years, until his death in 1896.
