St Agatha of Sicily Biography
St Agatha of Sicily was a young, beautiful and rich lady who lived a consecrated life. When the Decius revolution started, the magistrate Quinctianus tried to take advantage of Agatha’s innocence by blackmailing her for sex so as not to charge her for being a Christian.
Agatha was handed over to a brothel and refused to accept customers. On revenge of rejecting Quinctianus’s advances, she was beaten, imprisoned, tortured and had her breasts crushed and cut off. It is said that Saint Peter healed her, she got imprisoned again and then atlast in her death an earthquake struck.
