Saint Clement of Ohrid Short life History
Saint Clement of Ohrid was born on 9th century in the Thesaloniki district of modern Bulgaria.
He was a Student of St. Cyril and Saint Methodius in Moravia and Panonia. Building on their work, he helped found Slavic literature and culture in Macedonia.
He was
1. The first Slavic writer,
2. Translated dozens of works
3. Wrote a biography of Saints Cyril and Methodius
4. Founded the first Slavic university in Ohrid
5. A Friend of Saint Naum
6. Served in the Bulgarian court
7. Taught from 886 to 893 at Kutmicevica, being a great influence on over 3,000 students, many of whom became priests and spread the Slavic liturgy through the region.
8. Spiritual teacher of Saint Constantine the Presbyter.
