1st Reading – Isaiah 62:11-12

11 Behold, the Lord has made it to be heard in the ends of the earth. Tell the daughter of Zion: Behold, your Saviour comes. Behold, his reward is with him and his work before him.

12 And they shall call them: The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord. But you shall be called: A city sought after and not forsaken.

Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 97:1, 6, 11-12

R. A light will shine on us this day: the Lord is born for us.

1 The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice;
let the many isles be glad.
6 The heavens proclaim his justice,
and all peoples see his glory.
R. A light will shine on us this day: the Lord is born for us.

11 Light dawns for the just;
and gladness, for the upright of heart.
12 Be glad in the LORD, you just,
and give thanks to his holy name.
R. A light will shine on us this day: the Lord is born for us.

2nd Reading – Titus 3:4-7

Beloved:
4 When then the kindness and humanity of God our Savior appeared.

5 And he saved us, not by works of justice that we had done, but, in accord with his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and by the renovation of the Holy Spirit,

6 whom he has poured out upon us in abundance, through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Alleluia – Luke 2:14

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
14 Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to those
on whom his favor rests.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel – Luke 2:15-20

15 And it happened that, when the Angels had departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us cross over to Bethlehem and see this word, which has happened, which the Lord has revealed to us.”

16 And they went quickly. And they found Mary and Joseph; and the infant was lying in a manger.

17 Then, upon seeing this, they understood the word that had been spoken to them about this boy.

18 And all who heard it were amazed by this, and by those things which were told to them by the shepherds.

19 But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart.

20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, just as it was told to them.
