Christmas period is a period of joy. We celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is a very important time for Christians, our religion was given a new start and a new direction by Jesus Christ. As such the birth of our savior is not only a time of celebration but also a time to give thanks. We can do all this by a Christmas prayer.
Christmas Prayer for Family
“Dear Father, thank you for all we have in our lives. I am especially thankful this time of year, as I contemplate about Your gifts. All that You have given us and the love you have put in our lives. Father, thank you for your love and guidance.
Father, please help my family as we head for Christmas and the new year. Lord, we ask for Your love to penetrate our lives. We’re thankful for all we have, and we pray that we can maintain our focus on what is right and good. Father, please guard us throughout the holiday season and prepare our hearts for what come in the new year. In the name of Your son Jesus I pray. Amen.”
Short Christmas Prayer
On this day may we not only unwrap gifts,
But may we also know more about your love.
Today may we not only eat on festive meals,
but may we also feast on your faith.
On this day may we not only treasure happy times with family and friends,
but may we bring you into our lives.
Today may we not only sing Christmas carols that commemorate your birth,
but may we reside upon the resurrected Christ alive at this time.
Living Lord, we wait to know your love, feast on your truth, invite you into our lives and praise you for your sacrifice. Among the gifts, food and family we long to celebrate Christmas with you.
Christmas Dinner Prayer
“Heavenly Father, we thank You for the Christmas season and the memory of Jesus’ glorious birth! Lord, You remind us in Isaiah of the remarkable namesake that came to earth for us. He could not be described by just one name or in one way …yet, He is the One who has the key to our peace and our freedom.
Father, thank You for sending Him here to guide us. Lord, thank You for the traditions that we acknowledge enough to miss, and those that we are blessed to continue celebrating. Forgive us for attributing Christmas around anything but Jesus. Remove the routines that threaten to stumble us in pursuit of You, and open our eyes to realize what matters the most.
Lord, be with us this Christmas, Jesus. Open our eyes and our hearts to see you in a fresh, in a new way, whether in the middle of time-honored traditions or fresh new ways to celebrate Your birth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Christmas Party
Dear Almighty Father,
I come before you on this day humbly to thank you. Father, I thank you for your blessings and for fulfilling your promises. Lord, I thank you not only for the wonderful moments but also for guiding us through the hard times. I thank you for your grace, your mercy and the undeserved favor you have bestowed on me throughout this last year.
Father, I ask for continued blessings in the year to come. I pray for healing where healing is necessary, comfort where comfort is required and provision where provision is needed. Father, I pray that this Christmas party honors you and celebrates Your birth. More than it celebrates our own achievements because we acknowledge that no accomplishments are possible without your blessing.
Lord, It is not by my own ability, but by your mercy and grace that I stand here today praying before the family that I love so much. It is with a thankful heart that I pray these words. May your kingdom reign forever. In your Name, we pray. Amen.
Catholic Christmas Prayer
“Loving Father, in this holy period of prayer and song and laughter, we thank you for the great wonders you have sent us. Lord, for the shining star and the angel’s song, for the infant’s cry in a lowly manger. We thank you for the Word made flesh in a little Child. We accept his glory and are showered in its radiance.
God, be with us as we sing the ironies of Christmas, the incomprehensible understood, the poetry made hard fact, the helpless Babe who brings the world asunder. We kneel before you shepherds, innkeepers, and wise men. Help us to rise higher than we are. Amen.”
Opening Prayer for Christmas Party
“Loving Father, we are all gathered here to celebrate our Christmas Party. May you grace us with your generosity and love so that everyone present here would be able to be involved in the joy of your birth.
Father, allow us to share with each other your never-ending love, just like you have shown us. Lord, guide all our families, friends and everyone. So that as we celebrate this Christmas party, we would also recognize that this is a celebration of your birthday. Also, that Christmas is not about expensive presents and grand parties but it is about love and generosity to everyone, especially the needy.
God, make us see that in celebrating your birthday, we should also spread joy and love not only here at this party but also when we leave this place.
Father, grant your Divine Wisdom so we would be able to make every day a Christmas day from this day onwards.
Lord, bless this Christmas Party so that everyone will have fun in a Christian atmosphere. We ask all these through your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.”
Christmas Prayer for Kids
“Loving Jesus, on this day, I want to thank you for all you have done for me. Thank you for my amazing parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, and the rest of my family. Lord, thank you for my pets, my room, my teachers at school, my baby sister, and for Christmas. Lord savior, thank you for Santa Claus on Christmas morning, and the gifts that sit under the tree. Thank you for the sweet food Mom has made. Lord, thank you for coming here to save us! In Your Name, I pray. Amen!”
Closing Prayer for Christmas Party
“Father, we thank you for the successful end of this Christmas Party. We accept it is because you have blessed everyone here in this place that we have succeeded. Lord, we thank you for showing us that the most important part of Christmas is the celebration of your Birthday. God, thank you for staying with us here today to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas.
Lord, may you bless those who are in attendance that as we go back to our daily lives, we would carry with us the Christmas spirit that you have instilled in us.
God, may you bless our families, friends, and everyone. So that they may remember that this season should be a time of joy, generosity, forgiveness and love.
We pray for all these in your mighty Name, Amen.”
Christmas Meal Prayer
“God of All,
We give you praise
for your abundance,
and for all the remarkable things
you have given us.
Most of all the birth of Your Son on this day.
We pray for your blessing upon this meal,
and upon our friends and family.
We also ask that in your great mercy,
you would be kind to all those in need on this day.
We pray in Jesus Name. Amen.”
– David Bennett
Christmas Morning Prayer
“The Holy day of joy returns, Heavenly Father, and bestows another year with peace and goodwill.
Help us to correctly remember the birth of Jesus, so we may also participate in the song of the angels, the joy of the shepherds, and the adoration of the wise men.
Shut the doors of hate and open the doors of love all over the world?
Lord, let kindness accompany every gift and good desires to come with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil God, through the blessing that Christ brings, and show us to be merry with clean hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be Your children,
and the Christmas evening take us to our bed with thankful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus? sake.
– Henry van Dyke
Christmas Prayer for Friends
“I pray for you this Christmas, it
is like a special gift.
I decided to ask for peace and joy
and there’s more on this list!
I know you require both hope and love
to fill your life afresh,
and so I take these precious things
and wrap them up for you.
I ask that you would know how much
You are loved and held so dear.
As I accept a ribbon of grace
And tie a bow this year.
Lord on the label, I will put
my promise new to you
“You’re in my prayers this Christmas time
And the whole year through. Amen.”

God’s Love Revealed In His Becoming Man
“Great Son of God, You have become man in order to make Yourself loved by men. But where is the love that men give You in return?
You have given Your lifeblood to save our souls. Why then are we so ungrateful that, instead of repaying You with love, we spurn You with ingratitude? And I, Lord, I myself more than others have thus mistreated You.
But Your Passion is my hope. For the sake of that love which led You to take upon Thyself human nature and to die for me on the cross, forgive me all the offenses I have committed against You.
I love You, O Word Incarnate; I love You, O infinite goodness. Out of love for You, that I could die of grief for these offenses. Give me, O Jesus, Your love. Let me no longer live in ungrateful forgetfulness of the love You bear for me. I
wish to love You always. Grant that I may always preserve in this holy desire.
O Mary, Mother of God and my Mother, pray for me that Your Son may give me the grace to love Him always, unto death.
God’s Love Revealed In His Being Born An Infant
“O Dearest Infant! Tell me, what have You come on earth to do? Tell me, who are You seeking? Yes, I already know. You have come to die for me, in order to save me from hell. You have come to seek me, the lost sheep, so that, instead of fleeing from You any more, I may rest in Your loving arms.
Ah my Jesus, my treasure, my life, my love and my all! Whom will I love, if not You? Where can I find a father, a friend, a spouse more loving and lovable than You are?
I love You, my dear God; I love You, my only good. Lord, I regret the many years when I have not loved You, but rather spurned and offended You. Forgive me, O my beloved Redeemer; for I am sorry that I have thus treated You, and I regret it with all my heart. Pardon me, and give me the grace never more to withdraw from You, but constantly to love You in all the years that still lie before me in this life. My love, I give myself entirely to You; accept me, and do not reject me as I deserve.
O Mary, You are my advocate. By Your prayers You can obtain whatever You desire from Your Son. Pray Him then to forgive me, and to grant me holy perseverance until death. Amen.”
The Life Of Poverty Which Jesus Led From His Birth
“O Dear Infant Jesus, how could I be so ungrateful and offend You so often, if I realized how much You have suffered for me? But these tears which You shed, this poverty which You embraced out of love for me, make me hope for the pardon of all the offenses I have committed against You.
My Jesus, I am sorry for having so often turned my back on You. But now I love You above all else. “My God and my all!”
From now on You, O my God, shall be my only treasure and my only good. With Saint Ignatius of Loyola I will say to You, “Give me the grace to love You; that is enough for me.” I long for nothing else; I want nothing else. You alone are enough for me, my Jesus, my life, my love.
O Mary, my Mother, obtain for me the grace that I may always love Jesus and always be loved by Him. Amen.”
The Life Of Humiliation Which Jesus Led From His Birth
“O Dearest Savior, You have embraced so many outrages for love of me, yet I have not been able to bear one word of insult without at once being filled with resentful thought, I who have so often deserved to be trodden under foot by the demons in hell! I am ashamed to appear before You, sinful and proud as I am. Yet do not drive me from Your presence, O Lord, even though that is what I deserve. You have said that You will not spurn a contrite and humbled heart. I am sorry for the offenses I have committed against You. Forgive me, O Jesus. I will not offend You again.
For love of me you have borne so many injuries; out of love for You, I will bear all the injuries that are done to me. I love You, Jesus, who was despised for the love of me. I love You above every other good. Give me the grace to love You always and to bear every insult for love of You.
O Mary, recommend me to Your Son; pray to Jesus for me.
The Life Of Sorrow Which Jesus Led From His Birth
O Jesus, my sweet Love! I too have kept You suffering through all Your life. Tell me, then, what I must do in order to win Your forgiveness. I am ready to do all You ask of me. Lord, I am sorry, O sovereign Good, for all the offenses I have committed against You. I love You more than myself, or a least I feel a great desire to love You. Since it is You who has given me this desire, do You also give me the strength to love You exceedingly.
It is only right that I, who have offended You so much, should love You very much. Always remind me of the love You have borne me, in order that my soul may ever burn with love of You and long to please You alone. O God of love, I, who was once a slave of hell, now give myself all to You.
Graciously accept me and bind me to You with the bonds of Your love. My Jesus, from this day and forever in loving You will I live, and in loving You will I die.
O Mary, my Mother and my hope, help me to love Thy dear God and mine. This is the only favor I ask of You, and through You I hope to receive it. Amen.
God’s Mercy Revealed In His Coming Down From Heaven To Save Us
“O my Dear Redeemer! Where should I be now, if You had not borne with me so patiently, but had called me from life while I was in the state of sin? Since You have waited for me till now, forgive me quickly, O my Jesus, before death finds me still guilty of so many offenses that I have committed against You. I am so sorry for having vilely despised You, my sovereign Good, that I could die of grief. But You can not abandon a soul that seeks You.
If hitherto I have forsaken You, I now seek You and love You. Yes, my God, I love You above all else; I love You more than myself. Help me, Lord, to love You always during the rest of my life. Nothing else do I seek of You. But this I beg of You, this I hope to receive from You.
Mary, my hope, do You pray for me. If You pray for me, I am sure of grace. Amen.”
Flight Of The Child Jesus Into Egypt
“Dear Infant Jesus, crying so bitterly! Well have You reason to weep in seeing Yourself persecuted by men whom You love so much. I, too, O God, have once persecuted You by my sins. But You know that now I love You more than myself and that nothing hurts me more than the thought that I have so often spurned You, my sovereign Good.
Forgive me, O Jesus, and let me bear You with me in my heart n all the rest of the journey that I have still to make through life, so that together with You I may enter into eternity. So often have I driven You from my soul by my sins. But now I love You above all things, and I regret above other misfortunes that I have offended You. I wish to leave You no more, my beloved Lord. But You do give me the strength to resist temptations. Never permit me to be separated from You again. Let me rather die than ever again lose Your good grace.
O Mary, my hope, make me always live in God’s love and then die in loving Him. Amen.”
The Life Of The Child Jesus In Egypt And In Nazareth
“O Jesus, my Savior! When I consider how, for love of me, You did spend thirty years of Your life hidden and unknown in a poor workshop, how can I desire the pleasures and honors and riches of the world? Gladly do I renounce all these things, since I wish to be Your companion on this earth, poor as You were, mortified and humble as You were, so that I may hope to be able one day to enjoy Your companionship in heaven. What are all the treasures and kingdoms of this world? You, O Jesus, are my only treasure, my only Good!
I keenly regret the many times in the past when I spurned Your friendship in order to satisfy my foolish whims. I am sorry for them with all my heart. For the future, I would rather lose my life a thousand times than lose Your grace by sin. I wish never to offend You again, but always to love You. Help me to remain faithful to You until death.
O Mary, thou art the refuge of sinners, thou art my hope. Amen.”
The Birth Of Jesus In The Stable Of Bethlehem
O Adorable Infant Jesus! I should not have the boldness to cast myself at Your feet if I did not know that You Yourself invites me to draw near You. It is I who by my sins have made You shed so many tears in the stable of Bethlehem. But since You have come on earth to pardon repentant sinners, forgive me also, now that I am heartily sorry for having spurned You, my Savior and my God, who are so good and who has loved me so much.
In this night, in which You bestowest great graces on so many souls, grant Your heavenly consolation to this poor soul of mine also. All that I ask of You is the grace to love You always, from this day forward, with all my heart. Set me all on fire with Your holy love. I love You, O my God, who has become a Babe for love of me. Never let me cease from loving You ever more.
O Mary, Mother of Jesus and my Mother, You can obtain everything from Your Son by Your prayers. This is the only favor I ask of You.
Do You pray to Jesus for me. Amen.”
