St Brigid of Kildare died on February 1 523 AD. She is the patron saint of Ireland, and one of its three national saints along with St Patrick, Apostle of Ireland and St Columba, Apostle to the Picts.
She was a miracle worker, abbess and founder of the abbey of Kildare (Cill Dara).
