April 17 2024: Bible Verse of the Day – Wednesday of the Third Week of Easter – Jesus Says, I Will Not Reject Anyone Who Comes To Me – John 6:35-40

37 Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
38 because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.
39 And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. – John 6:35-40

Bible Verse of the Day Reflections

The statement “I Will Not Reject Anyone Who Comes To Me,” spoken by Jesus, holds immense significance regarding the Divine Mercy of our Lord.

This phrase is frequently repeated in St. Faustina’s Diary of Divine Mercy, and it is a message that many individuals require to hear.

The reason why it’s crucial to grasp this message is that many individuals may bear the weight of rejection.

There are those who have undergone rejection in their lives, often without their knowledge, and consequently, they may be apprehensive about being vulnerable in a relationship due to the fear of being hurt.

After experiencing emotional pain in a relationship, one tends to be more careful. Such pain can be inflicted by a family member, spouse, friend, or anyone to whom we have expressed affection but have only received rejection and pain in return. This kind of hurt is deeply distressing.

The words spoken by Jesus hold exceptional significance as they instill in us a sense of trust in Him.

His words assure us that we can approach Him, reveal our innermost thoughts and feelings, be completely defenseless in His presence, and He will respond with the utmost sensitivity, reverence, benevolence, and concern. Jesus’ level of care for us transcends even the care we have for ourselves!

Take some time today to contemplate these words of Jesus. Recite them repeatedly: “I will not reject anyone who comes to me.”

Recognize that He desires for you to approach Him and lay bare your heart before Him entirely. This act of vulnerability will allow Him to demonstrate His love for you and grant you the ability to place your trust in Him, surpassing what you had ever thought conceivable.

Let us Pray: Dear Lord, during my times of pain and isolation, I seek your presence. As the Supreme Healer, I am confident that you will bring solace to my troubled soul.

Please guide me in placing my trust in you and accepting your love. I love you, Jesus. Amen.
