Blessed Pius of Saint Aloysius (Luigi Campidelli) was a seminarian with the Passionists.

He was born on April 29 1868 in Poggio Berni (Forli), Italy.

He died of typhoid at 21 years of age on November 2 1889 in San Vito di Romagna, Forlì, Italy.

We celebrate his feast day on November 2 every year in the Catholic Church.

Blessed Pius of Saint Aloysius Biography

Blessed Luigi Campidelli was the fourth of six children of Joseph and Filomena Belpani. He was known as a good student and an extremely religious child.

Luigi taught catechism to other children and later became a member of the Passionists taking the name Pio.

He was noted for his piety and devotion to the Eucharist and Mary. Luigi was preparing for the priesthood when he died.
