1st Reading – Acts 16:11-15

11 And sailing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the following day to Neapolis;

12 And from there to Philippi, which is the chief city of part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were in this city for some days conferring together.

13 And upon the sabbath day, we went forth outside the gate by the riverside, where it seemed that there was prayer; and sitting down, we spoke to the women that were assembled.

14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple cloth, of the city of Thyatira, one that worshipped God, did hear the things which were said by Paul and her heart was opened by the Lord.

15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying: If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 149:1B-2, 3-4, 5-6A AND 9B

26B The Spirit of truth will testify to me, says the Lord,
27A and you also will testify.

Gospel – John 15:26-16:4A

26 Jesus said to his disciples: “When the Paraclete comes, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he shall give testimony of me.

27 And you shall give testimony because you have been with me from the beginning.

1 “These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be scandalized.

2 They will put you out of the synagogues: yeah, the hour comes, that whosoever kills you, will think that he does a service to God.

3 And these things will they do to you; because they have not known the Father, nor me.

4A these things I have told you, that when the hour shall come, you may remember that I told you.”
