Novena to St. Nicholas (Patron of Bakers)
St Nicholas, you are a holy man of God, honoured and praised for your miracles. You served Christ faithfully and with great love.
You were chosen to be a strong support for the Church, a guiding light, and a blessing to the world. You lived a life of goodness, bringing joy and spreading the fragrance of God’s grace wherever you went.
When your holy relics were taken to the city of Bari, the sea was blessed, and people praised the Lord from East to West.
Dear St Nicholas, you are an amazing and powerful helper, always ready to intercede for us. You are a good shepherd, protecting God’s people from harm.
We honour you as the hope of all Christians, a source of miracles, and a defender of the faithful. You are a wise teacher, feeding the hungry, comforting those who mourn, clothing the needy, healing the sick, guiding sailors, freeing prisoners, and caring for widows and orphans.
You are also a protector of purity, a gentle teacher of children, and a support for the elderly. You bring peace to those who work hard and provide for the poor and needy.
Please listen to our prayers and offer your protection. Speak on our behalf before God, and ask for everything we need for the salvation of our souls and bodies.
Protect our homes, towns, and all Christian communities from harm, for we know that the prayers of the righteous are powerful. After the Blessed Virgin Mary, we turn to you as our mediator before God, trusting in your prayers and protection.
As a watchful and caring shepherd, keep us safe from all enemies, diseases, disasters, famine, floods, fire, war, and invasions.
In all our troubles and difficulties, please help us and open the door to God’s mercy. We are sinners, unworthy of His grace, but we ask for your fatherly intercession to save us from harm.
Guide us in our faith, strengthen our hearts, and protect us from any danger, so that we may live in peace and experience God’s goodness.
We glorify the Holy Trinity – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – now and forever. Amen.
