Parish Short History

The Parish of our Lady Guadalupe was established in the 1970s, where the congregation originally met in a Methodist church until an affordable multi-purpose building was put up that included a worship space.

That made Monseigneur John. A.Lunney assigned to build a new parish in West Anchorage. The old Parish (now known as the Lunney Center), was constructed in 1976.

It is currently a cathedral of the Catholic church in Anchorage Alaska, being the co-cathedral and a parish church of the Archdiocese of Anchorage.
