St. Artemius Megalomartyr Biography

St. Artemius Megalomartyr was also known as Artemios of Antioch. He was a noted noted fighter and military pioneer under Emperor Constantine the Great. Majestic regent (emissary) of Egypt and Duke of Alexandria, designated by Emperor Constantius; he utilized his situation to spread the confidence.

During the rule of Julian the Apostate, Artemius turned into an over the top Arian blasphemer, chasing and abusing priests, nuns and diocesans, including Saint Athanasius. Nonetheless, through supplication and the frightfulness of the abuses, Artemius changed over to universal Christianity, upheld the confidence, and turned on agnostics, including Julian. He was blamed by rapscallions for decimating icons, captured, taken to Antioch, tormented and martyred.
