Biography
Saint Athanasius of Jerusalem, a deacon in Jerusalem. opposed the blasphemer Theodosius who had ousted St. Juvenal as bishop of Jerusalem. Captured, beaten and martyred for his help of orthodoxy and the pronouncements of the Council of Chalcedon.
