St Bertha of Bingen was the mother of St Rupert of Bingen. She was born in the early 8th century in Germany and died in Rupertsberg, Germany. We celebrate her feast day on May 15 every year in the Catholic Church.

Saint’s Biography
Saint Bertha of Bingen was the daughter of Pepin II. She was married to a pagan and was the mother of St Rupert of Bingen. After the death of her husband, Bertha founded several hospices for the poor. Bertha traveled on a pilgrimage to Rome. After the pilgrimage, she gave all her belongings and spent the rest of her life as a prayerful hermitess in Germany.
