Saint’s Biography

Saint Bertha of Bingen was the daughter of Pepin II. She was married to a pagan and was the mother of St. Rupert of Bingen. After the death of her husband, Bertha founded several hospices for the poor. Bertha traveled on a pilgrimage to Rome. After the pilgrimage, she gave all her belongings and spent the rest of her life as a prayerful hermitess in Germany.
