Saint’s Biography
Saint Datius of Milan was born in Italy. He came from a very distinguished family. He was a monk and an abbot before in 530 he became bishop of Milan, Italy. As a bishop, Datius traveled to Constantinople to discuss religious issues with Emperor Justinian. When he came to Corinth, he searched for a large house for himself and his followers. Datius was a socially very open-minded bishop and distributed grain during the famine in 535-36. He was imprisoned and banished by Arian Ostrogoths for defending orthodox Christianity. He died in 552 in Constantinople of natural causes.
