Saint’s Biography
Saint Edbert of Lindisfarne was born in the 7th century in England. He joined the Lindisfarne Abbey and served as a monk. Edbert liked to help the poor by giving them the tenth of his goods and property annually. He Succeeded Saint Cuthbert and appointed the bishop of Lindisfarne, England for eleven years. Edbert established several churches in the region and improved the structures at Lindisfarne. Saint Bede the Venerable wrote about him.
Death
He died on May 6 698 of natural causes and buried in the grave that had held Cuthbert‘s remains before they were translated to Chapel. Edbert’s relics were translated to Durham, England in 875.
