St. Guarinus of Palestrina Biography
St. Guarinus of Palestrina was born to Italian nobility and became a priest as well as the canon of the cathedral of Bologna, Italy. He joined the Augustinians as a canon in 1104 AD. He was later chosen the Bishop of Pavia, Italy in 1139 but declined citing his inadequacy to the task.
Guarinus was later elevated to cardinal- bishop of Palestrina in 1144 by Pope Lucius II.
