Biography
Saint Heliodorus of Altinum was a soldier during his youth. He was also a close friend to St. Jerome and also a financial supporter. Also, he helped with the translation of the Vulgate Bible. St. Heliodorus was also bishop of Altinum, a small town in Italy that has since disappeared. He followed St Jerome to the east but refused to live as a hermit in the desert. He opposed Arianism completely. Born in 332 AD in Croatia, ended up working in Altinum, Italy. Where he died of natural causes in 390 AD.
