St. José Sánchez del Río Biography
St. José Sánchez del Río was a childhood friend of Father Marcial Maciel who founded the Legionnaires of Christ. He became the flag bearer in the Cristero army at age 13 in the face to remain Catholics in the face of anti-religious government.
His two brothers Macario and Miguel were soldiers but they could not let Jose become a frontline soldier as he wanted. He was captured by government troops, Imprisoned and ordered to renounce Christianity. He refused and later martyred.
