Biography
Saint Joseph Studita of Thessalonica, sibling of St. Theodore the Studite. A priest. Hymnist. Bishop of Thessalonica. Contended energetically to keep up religious order with his priests, and to fight off the renegades who intended to pulverize pictures in the places of worship, which in the long run prompted his outcast to Thessaly by civil authorities. A martyr.
